Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani emphasized the importance of dialogue as a fundamental approach to addressing both domestic and regional issues, reaffirming the government’s support for exchanging ideas and fostering cooperation to achieve stability and development.

During his speech at the Seventh Baghdad International Dialogue Conference, attended by prominent political and academic figures from Iraq and abroad, Al-Sudani acknowledged the significant internal and external challenges facing Iraq. He stressed that adhering to a balanced foreign policy and maintaining neutrality was a major challenge, yet Iraq has successfully preserved its equilibrium and prevented the spread of conflicts in the region.

Al-Sudani also touched on the events of October 7, describing them as a pivotal moment that profoundly impacted the notions of life and existence for the Palestinian people. He reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to development and reconstruction despite ongoing challenges. He further noted that, through dialogue, the government successfully ended the mission of the international coalition, transitioning towards balanced bilateral relations.

In the context of enhancing regional stability, Al-Sudani highlighted Iraq’s success in initiating and facilitating dialogue between different parties, most notably the Saudi-Iranian dialogue, which contributed to reducing tensions and strengthening security in the region.
