UN Secretary-General’s Representative: Baghdad Dialogue Enhances Understanding and Increases Stability Prospects
The Director of the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue, Dr. Abbas Radi Al-Ameri, received the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Iraq, Mr. Mohammed Al-Hassan, on Thursday. The two discussed the latest political developments in Iraq and the region, as well as ways to promote stability and constructive dialogue.
During the meeting, the Institute’s Director extended an official invitation to the Special Representative to attend the 7th Baghdad International Dialogue Conference and deliver a speech at the opening session. He emphasized the crucial role of the United Nations in supporting dialogue efforts and fostering mutual understanding among different parties.
For his part, the UN Special Representative praised the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue for its active role in promoting national and regional dialogue. He highlighted the significance of the Baghdad Dialogue Conference as a platform that brings together elites and decision-makers to discuss critical issues and the responsibilities of the intellectual community in shaping the future of the country and the region.
