Director at New Lines Institute: Baghdad International Dialogue Is an Opportunity to Forge New Agreements on Iraq and the Region

Caroline Rose, Director at the New Lines Institute for Strategy and Policy, affirmed that the 7th Baghdad International Dialogue, organized by the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue, represents an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation between Iraq and several key countries, including the United States, Europe, and Asia. She noted that the event helps build political and intellectual momentum that enables the exchange of perspectives and the formation of new agreements in regional and international policies.

Rose explained that the conference provides an effective platform for discussing regional challenges and shared opportunities—particularly regarding the situation in Syria and its impact on Iraqi-Syrian relations. It also included discussions on China’s Belt and Road Initiative and its role in supporting development efforts within Iraq.

She added that the exchange of expertise and viewpoints at such conferences can produce innovative and comprehensive solutions to the political and economic challenges facing Iraq and the broader region.
