The Iraqi Institute for Dialogue has announced the release of issue (79–80) of its quarterly journal Hiwar Al-Fikr, which focuses on analyzing current strategic and intellectual issues. This new issue is dedicated to the theme: “The Iraqi Economy: From Rentierism to Scarcity”, in light of the growing challenges facing the country after decades of reliance on rent-based income.
The issue features a collection of research studies and analytical articles by Iraqi experts and academics, discussing the transition of Iraq’s economy from a rentier system to one of resource scarcity, as well as the potential opportunities for reform.
